Anna Miller, OTR/L, ATP

I have been a practicing occupational therapist since 2012, gaining experience across diverse clinical settings. While I value a broad skill set, my true passion lies in pediatrics and sensory integration. I am committed to providing neurodivergent-affirming care that celebrates individuals exactly as they are. My practice is rooted in a play-based, child-led approach that prioritizes the therapeutic relationship above all else.

I believe that while clinical language is always evolving, our words deeply matter. I strive to use inclusive, respectful language that empowers my clients and their families rather than focusing on “deficits.”

Specialization & Clinical Expertise

I have a particular interest in applying neurodivergent-affirming principles to toileting and pelvic health. By combining advanced pelvic floor training with sensory integration and regulation strategies, I help children navigate the unique barriers they face in achieving these milestones.

My clinical background includes:

STAR Institute for Sensory Processing: Completed a Level 1 Mentorship and served as a staff therapist in Denver, CO.

DIR®/Floortime™: Certified therapist focusing on developmental, individual-difference, and relationship-based models.

Academia: I currently serve as adjunct faculty for the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at Rocky Mountain University.

Beyond the Clinic

Though my career took me across state lines for a time, I am a proud Illinois native and happy to be practicing back in my home state. When I’m not working with families or teaching, you can find me outdoors—hiking, kayaking, or traveling. My husband and I are avid concert-goers and dedicated college basketball fans (ILL-INI!).

Currently, I also serve full-time with the Illinois Assistive Technology Program, staying at the forefront of tools that support independence for all.
